Chamber, cellar, closet: shed ballast and reach the next level

I already wrote about identification and identity and how we can break the shackles of identification in my article Ein be-Sinn-L-I(t)es Fest! Who are we really? Who is behind the one who thinks? Alongside the roles such as actor, director and playwright, which I talk about in Sub-Personalities, there is the true self, the higher self, the soul or whatever we want to call it. The one behind everything.

The challenge we all face in life is to be in contact with our higher self. Not to be attached to roles, but to be able to perceive the role that suits us at the moment and then take it off again. Because if I'm stuck in a role, if I can't get out of it because the identification is too strong, then I can't develop further.
In order to get to a higher level of the self, or - as we say at Win-Win AG - to the next level, the next higher level, I have to be aware of identifications and develop in such a way that I have contact with my identity, my true self. Ken Wilber formulates the spiritual path as follows: "It is the permanent dissolution of the respective lower identifications. In other words, we need to know what role we are playing or currently performing, and we need to know that we are not the role .

That may sound a little pompous for some people. That's why today I'm going to show you a simple exercise that you can use to walk part of this path on your own in everyday life.

The 3K exercise: chamber, cellar, closet.

What have we not collected in basements, storerooms or cupboards ... We often only keep things because we can't let them go. We don't think about the fact that it is also energy that is stored there. For many people, the cellar is the most expensive part of the house. Not only because building a basement is extremely expensive in itself, but because so much is stored there that drags us back into the past and negatively influences our subconscious. And these energies hold us back. How much of the past is there, and what of it is important for the desired future?

I give this exercise to my coachees in my annual coaching sessions so that they can check it regularly: Am I able to let go of low identifications and go to the next level?

  1. Take a look in your closet: what is in there that you no longer wear? Or what are you wearing that actually belongs to an old you that you no longer want to be? Is everything there suitable for supporting your future desired self?
  2. Go to the cellar: what is sitting there gathering dust that you only keep because you can't part with it? Not being able to part with things has to do with emotions of fear and lack. You know what you then put on. Could it be that these things are connected to old roles (!) that have not been useful for a long time?
  3. Look in storage rooms, mezzanines, cupboards ... and ask yourself here too: What of what I see here will take me to the next level, and what will I hold back?

Then be consistent and let go of everything that is holding you back. Remember: the old things you discard could be someone else's new future. Where is the nearest second-hand store? Can you sell or give away things from your basement so that someone else can benefit from them to get to their next level?

It is important to be able to let go, otherwise there can be no future self at a higher level. Animals that shed their skin regularly don't carry their old skins and hides around with them! If you shed ballast, new heights are open to you.
